A bittersweet day for the junior members of the club today. Had all gone to plan our J13/14/15s would have been in Lough Rinn this weekend competing at the Rowing Ireland 1k Classic but the weather had othe plans unfortunately. Very strong winds yesterday and again today as the day went on meant the correct call was made to cancel the event. Hopefully Rowing Ireland can find a suitable date in the calendar to reschedule.
All was not lost though and we were delighted to accept a very generous invite from our neighbours over the border in Enniskillen Royal Boat Club to spin up early this morning for a last minute informal at home training regatta. We managed to avoid the worst of the wind by getting underway early and had some great pieces with and against their J13/14/15s along the boathouse straight. Huge thanks to Gerry, Richard, Ian and all in Enniskillen for the invite and really generous hospitality shown to us and the rowers.
