Carrick-on-Shannon Set to Host Exciting Finale of Waterways Ireland Row for It League

Carrick-on-Shannon Rowing Club is looking forward to welcoming hundreds of athletes, coaches and supporters to the banks of the River Shannon on Sunday, August 2nd, as the club hosts its annual Sprint Regatta and the eagerly anticipated final round of the 2026 Waterways Ireland Row for It League.

Following five highly competitive rounds held across Ireland, the league champions in the Junior 13, 14 and 15 categories will be decided in Carrick, ensuring an exciting day of high-quality racing with valuable league points still up for grabs.

Alongside the league events, the regatta programme will feature racing across a wide range of age groups and boat classes, with clubs from throughout Ireland expected to compete on the fast 500-metre course on the River Shannon.

Spectators can enjoy a full day of thrilling racing from the town boardwalk and quayside, with the first races scheduled to begin in the morning. The event promises to provide a fantastic atmosphere for competitors and visitors alike while showcasing Carrick-on-Shannon as one of Ireland’s premier rowing venues.
